"A Mystical Moment" -- MOISELLE FW09

I was very honoured to get this invitation to attend the fashion show of Moiselle.

The show was held on 28th of September, featuring 60 pieces of its new F/W collection.

The cocktail party started at 7:30pm, and we saw many celebrities there like Charlene Choi and Jade Kwan.


The show was fascinating that I forgot to take pictures! Nice clothes, nice models, nice venue and nice music tracks...

Harris Chan, creative manager and successor of Moiselle, greeted the audience after the show.

Catalogues and bags were distributed to guests as souvenirs.

I didn't know Moiselle had such nice and gorgeous designs before I watched the show. Thus I think fashion shows are indeed a good communication tool for public to know the brand more.

Paul Smith for Evian


 

 
Paul Smith designed a bottle for Evian 2010 which will be on sale in limited amounts until Christmas. It is a nice glass bottle with colourful stripes around the top, printed with organic ink. He said that it is about "classic with a twist", and he would like to deliver a message of "live young" to the audience and wish them would enjoy every day with a youngful heart.
 

 
I think this smashing bottles are really interesting as it collabrates fashion brand and beverages together. In the ad, Paul Smith uses an extra long straw to drink the water from the bottle, and reflect the brand meaning of "live young" in a lively and delightful way. In my opinion, the bottles are so beautiful and the meaning behind is also meaningful ^^

Barbie celebrates her 50th anniversary in 2009,from the begining of the year, many celebrations and exhibitions start all around the world, including a grandopenning of a 6 floors new flagship store in Beijing.

This time, Barbie launches an mini exhition, called"Pretty inPink. In Here." at festival walk (Kolwoon Tong) crossover with http://www.izzue.com/, a fashion retailer.


In this mini Barbie exhibition, http://www.izzue.com/ displays 3 styles of barbie fashion,e.g T-shirt and ruffles skirt box sets.The crossover fashion shows Barbie's strong fashion sense. Barbie fans can even buy this crossover Barbie fashion and dress themselves up to be a real Barbie doll.

Besides showing that, the exhibition is decorated with pink color, at the same timeshowing 6 styles of historical moment( 1959、1962、1967、1971、1977、1986) in Barbiefashion's development, which are also display its clothes in adult version wear on Barbie shape mannequins.
Barbie is a brand which mainly sell their famous lovely baby doll, named Barbie, and the doll's acessories and clothings. It is so speacial that a toy brandnow starting to produce and sell the real-world version/ adult version of barbie fashion and cometics, which will be a new foucuing production line recently developed.

Two life-sized Barbie mannequins in 183cm height were displayed in the exhitbition, which is first ever showcased in Hong Kong and help bring gimmick and interest the audenice!

This exhibition also collaborated with several international, renowned fashion brands such as LANCEL, LONGCHAMP, MARC BY MARC JACOBS. This allow shoppers to have a closer look at the items. Moreover, this exhibition, on one hand, demonstrating a new look with leading fashion and cosmetics brands. On the other hand, this help promote and encourage shoppers to those brands which also located in Festival Walk.

What's more along this promotional campaign, Festival Walk launched a Barbie chocolate and Barbie ALL DOLL'D UP Lip Gloss Charity Sales for supporting the Moonlight Foundation Nepal (MFN). We can see that within a singal promotional campaign, various o promotional strategies and activities also lauched at the same time in order to maximize the visibility to consumers and to drive sales!

IFC mall presents FALL WINTER 2009
It is a multi-perspective Fashion & Photo ExhibitionsHighlighted by Hong Kong’s First Mannequins in Motion .

Oval Atrium will be transformed into a realm of roving mannequins to showcase this fall winter fashion collections from international labels including Agnès b. , ANTEPRIMA, ATSURO TAYAMA, BOSS Hugo Boss, ETRO, Lane Crawford and LANVIN. The ‘models’ will appear in sequence on a roving platform simulating a world-class fashion show.


IFC also invites international fashion illustrator Lovisa Burfitt capturing “FASHION MOMENT” through her art. Lovisa Burfitt’s impressive portfolio includes illustrations for top European and Japanese fashion brands, Sweden’s fine dining district and international fashion magazine ELLE, casting a whole new dimension to the fashion industry.




Around the stage lies the work of celebrated Hong Kong fashion photographer Phoebe Wong to reveal this fall winter’s trends through her lens. The photographs taken at major fashion shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris, not only capture the fascinating “FASHION MOMENT” on the runway, but also exhibit the glamour behind the scene to which the public is rarely revealed. Shoppers would be able to identify the coming fashion trends and to be astonished by the magnitude of international catwalks.

LOUIS VUITTON: Make-To-Order

LOUIS VUITTON has provided the make-to-order service for one and a half century, which is one of the important business of the brand. This year is the 150th anniversary of the RED CROSS, thus, LOUIS VUITTON specially made a RED CROSS kit to celebrate, and co-operated with several innovative designers to make the special order for the RED CROSS, and going to auction those special pieces, all the earnings from this auction will be donated to the RED CROSS.




There are musicians, photographers, fashion designers, famous chef, etc to design for the RED CROSS, including Ferran Adria, Gustavo Santalolla, Patrick-Louis Vuitton, Annie Leibovitz and Marc Jacobs.


The auction will be held on 17th November in Sotheby's office in New Bond Street, London.

BURBERRY FW09 ad campaigns

Not as usual, Burberry has invited Harry Potter Star - Emma Watson - to be the spokesperson of this season's arrival.

Before, Burberry used supermodels like Kate Moss as its spokespeople, but this time, the 19-year-old British Actress looks chic in the ads.









Christopher Bailey, Creative Director of Burberry, says, "Having known and admired the lovely Emma Watson for quite some time, she was the obvious choice for this campaign who like the images she fronts, has a classic beauty a great character and a modern edge... Emma's charm, intellect and brilliant sense of fun made the whole shoot feel like a picnic on the Thames."

The ads can now be seen in Burberry's stores.

Hey! Look what they've done!

From our guest speaker, we learned one of the most important idea of creative promotion, includnig window display and advertisment, is to "Wow" people, that means to surprise audiences and draw their attention to what new trend is.

Let's take a look at how these brands promote themselves through creative ads:


Brussel's agency TSWA created this striking print ad for paint manufacturer Levis,with the idea of a 'splash of paint'.

This sexy and attractive ad simply links fashion with interior, they are reflection of personal lifestyle. This ad smartly arouse people who are not only interest in painting walls in great colors but also care for the quality of life. "Fashion and walls", it inspires audience to imagine painting luminous paints on walls, just like wearing fine quality, comfort and
kaleidoscopic, stylish garments on the body. It is all about "Ambiance", showing personal style and sense of taste. We love the in-depth meaning of this ad, instead of selling functional attributes or performance of paint.

YSL Promotion

The Fifth Yves Saint Laurent’s Manifesto in Hong Kong
The fifth Yves Saint Laurent manifesto was released on Saturday, September 12,2009 where over half a million copies of the eco-consciously printed Manifesto will be distributed in the streets of Paris, New York, Milan, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and, for the first time, Seoul.
Like past seasons of manifesto distribution, the first 2,000 passerby in each city will receive the Manifesto in a custom cotton tote bag designed by Creative Director Stefano Pilati.


This season, AW09/10, the YSL manifesto features Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin's campaign imagery with Christy Turlington.

In the last season, the YSL manifesto also included an additional collectors item besides the tote bag -- a custom USB key uploaded with the Manifesto video.

As, apart from this printed YSL manifesto features, started from the last month, Yves Saint Laurent has also established their official page in the popular communication tools, like the Facebook and Twitter, in order to gain a higher exposure of the brand and also the YSL manifesto project.

APM 60th National clutural exhibition

There is a national clutural exhition in APM in Kwun Tong. It is showing different kinds of stuff that have been used by those great peolpe who helped in establishing the PRC. They are really typical Chinese things, such as the uniform of the red soldiers, the old radios used at that time and many other daily necessities. It is very interesting to learn the cultural and seeing such new things.
I think the aim of this exhibition is used to arouse the interest of HK people on learning Chinese history and be patriotic to China. This kind of exhibition actually do promote the sense of nationalism. At the time of taking photo in this exhibition, I did see many residents looking around the stuffs. It should be a successful exhibition.
