MasterCard Luxury Week Hong Kong 2009

MasterCard Luxury Week Hong Kong (MLWHK) is a once-a-year event held in Hong Kong since 2007, presented by MasterCard and produced by IMG Fashion. This year, 11 international designers showed in 14 different shows from August 24 to August 28. The shows featured the latest collections for fall and winter 09. The designs of Shanghai Tang, Kate Spade, Emmanuel Ungaro, Tod's, Betsey Johnson, Escada, Derek Lam, Diane Von Furstenberg and Thakoon at the grand Ballroom of The Four Seasons Hotel can be caught.


Shows were by invitation only. And I was lucky enough to be one of the volunteers in the show.

MLWHK is the world's first consumer-focused luxury fashion event that showcases high-end apparel and accessories from some of the world's leading luxury fashion brands.

Produced by the world's leading fashion event specialists IMG Fashion, it provides enormous cache and reinforces the position that Hong Kong is the luxury shopping capital of Asia.

This year, IMG offered high-tea showings as well as gala evening showcases. It provided fashion enthusiasts a unique opportunity to get a first-hand glimpse of designer picks from a variety of Fall Winter 2009 collections from around the globe and showcases designs as they arrive in store and are featured in the leading fashion magazines.

The debut of MLWHK took place in August 2007 and featured 11 luxury brands from Oscar de la Renta to Zac Posen. Since then some of the world's most revered luxury brands have taken part in the event. It is indeed a great promotion tool for the hosts, sponsors and designers, as the media all over the world feature the shows worldwide.
